Yes yes, I know, it’s been almost an eternity, I am sorry for that. Lots has happened and there’s lots going on.
Right now Im writing an essay on the syntax of Irish English. It’s… a little bit boring at the moment, but I am getting there. Otherwise I love it at the English department. I went to their Scots night the other day and it was a lot of fun. First of all there was some information about Edinburgh, where I’ll be going on a three week course in the spring and later there was some scottish dancing being tought by our realia teacher (who is a very funny old man) and that was hilarious! =)
Last weekend I was in Helsinki at the Global Leadership Summit. It was AWESOME! =) The teaching was outstanding, so spot on and well done. One of the best lectures was the one with Richard Curtis, the man behind the success “Make poverty history”. He’s also the man behind all of my favorite movies: Love acutally, Notting Hill, Four weddings and a funeral, Mr Bean! It was just so fascinating. I guess it will take a while to process everything. Bill Hybels was there in person on the friday and man, he’s a good teacher!
Also, two weekends ago mum and dad came down to visit us. It was their 25th wedding anniversary the tuesday after and we went out to celebrate on both the friday and the saturday night. On friday we went to see Tell me on a Sunday at Åbo svenska teater and on Saturday we went to Ruissalo for a walk and a picknick and out for dinner to Sergios in the evening.
I’ve made a new friend, she’s called Lotta. She’s from Porvoo and studies English with me. She’s a lot of fun, a lovely person! She’s one of the main reasons to why I love it at the English department. We hang out every day during the week and it’s great having someone to share everything and anything with while at Arken. =)
The short version, I’m doing fine… =)
